The 7 Levels of AI Use (and how to level up)

We all start at level 1: knowing pretty well nothing about not only how to use AI tools, but what’s available and what kind of models that enable.

This YouTube video (not mine) takes you through the Seven Levels - and probably wound up in my feed because it posits, that all this is headed toward the first (of many), single-person unicorns.

At level 2, using the prompt structure of instruction, context, and constraints while asking AI to clarify intent before answering is the single habit that accelerates advancement fastest.

💼 At level 4, building dedicated AI workspaces with context files, custom instructions, and project-specific settings for common topics like work, creative, finance, and health eliminates the need to re-explain yourself every chat.

🤖 At level 5, users should stop seeing individual tasks and instead automate full processes that run end-to-end without human involvement, triggered by schedule or events rather than manual execution.

🚫 AI agents are not for everyone yet, with tools like OpenClaw requiring technical expertise to set up despite offering unique chat interface with specialized multi-agent systems unavailable in other tools (see our invite link for easyClaw, below).
